The Challenge
When Cascade Asset’s production team analyzed performance of the company’s system recycling business, they noticed that that personell spent a great deal of time per system setting up and performing the wiping process. Inserting CD’s into each computer and having to attach a mouse, monitor and keyboard to every system added a large labor overhead.
In addition, Cascade experienced many issues with reselling the hardware as some systems had serious issues. This caused high return rates on the hardware and the accompanying support costs.
The Solution
Using WipeDrive Enterprise PXE boot server allowed Cascade tech workers to set up an environment with one server and a large network switch to wipe up to 200 systems at once.
As part of the process WipeDrive Enterprise runs a full system diagnostic test and inventory which report most hardware issues immediately.
The Results
As a result of the improved automation and the decline of defective part returns Cascade realized a very impressive 54% increase in profitability in the part sales division of the company.
